Announcing... the 2010 Year-End Contest!

Happy New Year!

It has been an amazing year, and I am so thankful for all of the loving families I've met this year! It has been a year full of piggyback rides, swinging, splashing, cold red noses, sweaty summer days, smiles, laughs, and even some tears. To celebrate, I'm happy to announce my first annual year-end contest that I will be running through my Facebook fan page! The lucky family with the most "likes" of their family photo will win a FREE photo session in 2011!

Here are the details!

TO ENTER
- You don't have to do anything! All families who had a portrait session with me in 2010 and have model release forms on file will automatically be entered!
- If you do not have forms on file with me, simply email me. I will send them to you, and you can fill them out, scan them, and return them to me via email.
- If you are not interested in a free 2011 session, simply reply to this email, and I will remove your photo from the contest.

TO WIN
- The contest will be open for voting from January 1st-9th. You may tell your friends to begin voting as soon as the photos are posted tomorrow.
- To encourage your friends to vote, you can post a link to my Facebook page and remind them to vote for you by "liking" your family photo in the "2010 Sessions" album. Only "likes" for photos in this album will count! (Note: People will only be able to "like" your photo if they are first a fan of Katy Lineberry Photography.)
- Fans may vote for as many photos as they like, but only "likes" will count, not comments!
- To keep it fair, I will not be tagging you in your photos. However, you may tag anyone that is in the photo (tags for people not in the photo will be removed).
- The winner will be announced on Monday, January 10th!

WHAT YOU WILL WIN
- The winner will receive a FREE photo session - a one-to-two-hour photo session and CD of 50 edited images with print authorization!
- Photo session must be scheduled for a 2011 date.
- Photo session can be scheduled anytime in the Orlando area or during limited times outside of the Orlando area.
- Prize retail value ($150) cannot be altered or changed in any way and is not redeemable for cash.
- Prize is not transferable to other persons.

Good luck!

Christmas Surprises!

This year I had the pleasure of being a part of a lot of Christmas card plans and Christmas surprises for family members! I'm so happy to finally be sharing these with you all now that the holidays have passed!

First, the adorable Cardona family, who couldn't possibly have any more fun together!

Next, four adorable grandchildren, part of a Christmas surprise by two neighboring grandmas who are wonderful friends!

Now, two little cutie cousins, born just days apart! A Christmas surprise for Grandma & Grandpa!

Lastly, two sweet sisters and their loving mommy!

Thanks for letting me be a part of your Christmases, everyone! Had a blast with all of you!

November Sessions

November was a busy month for me! Here are a few of the sessions from the month... the rest will have to wait until after Christmas due to all of the Christmas surprises I was happy to be a part of this year!

First, my dear friend Kim and her boyfriend Kevin. Kim and I were both music teachers in Tampa when I lived there, and I was so glad to finally get out for pictures with them together!

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of finally meeting the Davis family. We had to reschedule a couple times due to weather and a family emergency, but the weather turned out to be beautiful and we ended up with some really amazing photos. Here are just a couple of my favorites!

During my last photography trip to St. Pete, I met up with the Coriell family (of which the mother actually works with Kim!) at the beach for some family photos. We both sadly ended up with parking tickets after our morning together, but I'd say it was worth it for the shots that we got that day!

I will post my other sessions soon - after Christmas!

Keep an eye out on my blog and Facebook page - I'll be announcing a contest for my 2010 families at the end of the year! Someone is going to win something fabulous!!

More recent photo shoots!

My last three photo shoots in St. Louis were a blast! We really took advantage of the beautiful Missouri fall color, and the weather was perfect!

First, some photos of my niece Jackie. Not only is she beautiful, but she's also a budding photographer, so we had a lot of fun experimenting together!

I then got to meet up with a childhood friend and her family, which was fun enough even before we started our session! Not to mention that her kids are so stinkin' cute and hams in front of the camera. Adorable!

For my last session, I met Kim and her husband for some couples photos at the Missouri Botanical Garden. We then met up with her brother's family and her parents for some large family photos. Fun!

There were lots more - check out my Facebook page for the rest!

Adams Family

I had a really great time running around an area St. Louis park with the Adams family! They are such a loving family! Here is a sampling of our photos from the morning!

Jennifer & Jason

Nothing says fall better than some photos in sweaters, near overturned boats and barns! The leaves were just starting to turn and the weather was fantastic while I was in St. Louis, so we ended up with some great photos of Jennifer and Jason! Here are a few of my many favorites!

Johnson Family

As part of my move to Orlando, I offered free sessions to a few families. The Johnsons were friends of friends, and after rescheduling a couple times due to our rainy Florida weather, we finally were able to get together a few weeks ago!

The Quintas!

I should have expected based on the time I spent working with the mother of this next family, but they were so crazy fun! They were open to all ideas and had some of their own, which made for an exciting photo shoot. I was actually a little sad when the sun was setting and we started losing our amazing evening light! Here are some of my favorites!

The Honeys & the McKnights!

I've been photographing the Honey family for almost two years now (they were my first "real" photo shoot.... *insert "awwww"s here*), but this time, they wanted to include their best friends, the McKnight family! We had a great time chasing the boys around the beach and really got some great shots! Here are a few of my favorites!

The Right Photographer

On Friday, I had the pleasure of doing some headshots for Veronica & some of her fellow real estate agents. It was a great chance to meet a lot of people, and to get to know Veronica a little bit better!

As the second gentleman sat down, he said something along the lines of, "You've got your work cut out for you here... I am NOT photogenic!" And the following words slipped out of my mouth - "It isn't that you aren't photogenic, you just haven't found the right photographer!" In all honesty, I'm sure I read this on some other photographer's website at some point. But it has stuck with me for a reason - I truly believe it! I never thought I was photogenic until I received my engagement and wedding photos, and seeing the results of those photos has actually improved my own self-esteem! That resulting feeling also is what has driven me to pursue my passion of photography. My goal is for every subject I photograph to find a new level of confidence after viewing my photos. Each person has their own unique smile and personality when photographed naturally - and capturing that is my priority!

I've also been reading a lot of online discussions among other natural light photographers lately. On one thread, there was quite a heated discussion about photographers like myself, who charge less than many other area photographers due to the fact that we are still learning and experimenting. It is amazing to read... Sure, I'm not a "Pay $500 sitting fee and then pay per print from there" kind of photographer, but I like to think I still take quality photos and am consistently improving!

The Taylor Family!

The Taylor family met me at Lake Eola (in downtown Orlando) with some fun props, ready to go! We had a great time walking around the lake, enjoying the comparatively cool evening temperatures during this hot hot summer!
